Two Mommies is one too many

Two lesbian partners planning to raise a child together. Their actions may bear severe consequences when the child gets older, go through puberty and become mature. He will wonder why his family has deviated from the norm. How is he going to survive high school with his peers teasing him about not having a real dad?

Constant teasing may lead to low self-esteem and many other social problems. The problem will continue to grow and develop until the boy reaches adulthood. If he does get married, he will probably not know how to discipline his child properly as he has never experienced it himself. However, this does not mean that his two mothers are not capable of disciplining him but they cannot replicate how a father would do it.

Same-sex marriage has become the norm in America. This can be seen from the hit musical comedy series GLEE. The female lead character in the series was brought up by two gay dads. Just wanted to bring this point up because GLEE is AWESOME (inserts smiley face)

  1. I agree that the actions of two lesbian partners raising a child together brings about problems for the child in the future. This is especially true in conservative countries where those who do not stick to the norm are teased and out-casted. This will affect the child mentally and may result in psychological illnesses such as low self esteem. The child may also withdraw himself and not socialise with others.

  2. I agree to a large degree that 2 lesbian partners raising a child may lead to dire consequences in the future, this is especially true if the child is a male as he may lack the presence of a role model. Also, having parents of the same gender may lead the child to think that it is the norm and increase the likelihood of homosexuality significantly.

  4. I disagree with sentence "Their actions may bear severe consequences when the child gets older, go through puberty and become mature." This is because if the child is matured enough, he will begin to accept his parents for the way they are and will not be affected by the constant teasings.

  5. Oh no..what has the world come to?!
I feel that this problem(or situation) of same sex marriage requires attention as it may be harmful to the society in the future. Without a father/mother figure through his childhood years, a child can get dillusioned with the roles of males and females. This would lead to a further increase of same sex marriage, which in my opinion, goes against nature and should not be allowed to spread.
